Manny Pacquiao to donate £40m earnings from Floyd Mayweather fight to charity

MANNY PACQUIAO, who lost to Floyd Mayweather Jr on a unanimous points decision in Las Vegas last weekend, is set to donate half of his £80million fortune from the fight to charity.

Mayweather's victory cemented his legacy as one of boxing's best as he extended his unbeaten record to 48-0.
However, before of the fight ring legend Sugar Ray Leonard warned Pacquiao about being too generous with his earnings.
The Filipino’s promoter Bob Arum revealed his man will no doubt give half of it to good causes.
He said: “I’m sure half of what Manny earns in this fight is going to go to charity. That is just Manny.
“We don’t like to talk about money too much as more charities line up.”
Pacquiao is keen to help his struggling compatriots as the Filipino congressman’s influence in the country rises.
The WBO welterweight champion will run for president in the Philippines once his fighting career comes to an end.
Pacquiao is set to undergo surgery on a shoulder problem which hampered his fight against Mayweather.
The Filipino is expected to be out of action for a year.

Nepal quake: US aid planes arrive in Kathmandu

Nepal quake: US aid planes arrive in Kathmandu

Troops and emergency aircraft from the United States have arrived in Nepal to help deliver aid to remote areas hit by last week's devastating earthquake.
Relief efforts near the epicentre have been hampered by a lack of aircraft.
About 100 US marines, two helicopters and four Ospreys capable of vertical take-off are now in Kathmandu.
Their arrival comes as Nepal's only international airport has banned larger aircraft carrying aid from landing because of concerns over its runway.
More than 7,000 people died in the magnitude 7.8 earthquake. More than 14,021 people were injured.
The epicentre was in the Gorkha region, and many roads to the hilly district are impassable due to landslides.
The six aircraft are due to begin aid flights on Monday.
Brig Gen Paul Kennedy said: "We've got search and rescue teams waiting to go out to the remote areas, we've got relief supplies, especially shelters."
New restrictions on planes landing at Kathmandu airport will not affect aid flights, a Nepali government spokesman said.
Planes heavier than 196 tonnes had been allowed to land the quake but restrictions have been imposed because of potholes on the runway, officials say.
Also on Sunday, the United Nations said the problem of customs controls holding up aid deliveries from the airport was "diminishing".
"The government has taken note of some of the concerns that we've expressed to them and they've addressed those," said Jamie McGoldrick, who is co-ordinating the UN relief effort in Kathmandu.

Landslides and poor weather have hampered efforts to deliver aid to isolated areas.
The death toll could go up, as search and rescue efforts continuing in several hill districts including Dhading, Rasuwa and Sindhupalchok, the government has said.
While the vast majority of casualties were in Nepal, about 100 people are reported to have died in neighbouring India, China and Bangladesh.
On Sunday, Nepali police released a list of foreigners who had been killed or injured. The largest group of nationals affected is Indians, with 39 known to have died and 10 injured.
The EU envoy to Nepal, Rensje Teerink, said on Friday that the whereabouts of 1,000 EU citizens was still unknown.

Rematch? Presidency? What will Manny Pacquiao chase next?

Rematch? Presidency? What will Manny Pacquiao chase next?

LAS VEGAS — Manny Pacquiao left Las Vegas around $100 million richer but with his boxing future very much up in the air.
Pacquiao’s defeat to Floyd Mayweather on Saturday night could be the last that is seen of the Filipino welterweight for quite some time, with a combination of injury and a lack of obvious fights casting doubt on when, or if, he will return to the ring.
“We would like to do it again,” said his trainer Freddie Roach, alluding to a possible rematch following Mayweather’s unanimous points decision.
SHOULDER INJURY: Pacquiao reveals he wasn’t at 100%

But that outcome is almost certain not to happen, with the one-sided nature of the contest, the lack of action and the acrimonious relationship between rival promoters putting up a series of huge obstacles.
Then there is the factor of the shoulder injury Pacquiao claimed had hindered him in the build-up to the contest, and for which he was denied the use of an anti-inflammatory injection.
Given the noises coming out of his camp over the latter part of the weekend it seems as though the issue will require surgery, with an indefinite healing period that is likely to rule him out until possibly the end of the year.
ROGERS: Fighters cash in, but fight was a loss for the sport

Furthermore, the power struggle that splits boxing has left the 36-year-old with a severe dearth of legitimately viable opponents once he is back to full health. The lingering issues between his promoter, Bob Arum’s Top Rank, and managerial rival, Al Haymon, limits the pool significantly.
Pacquiao has already fought Top Rank fighter Timothy Bradley twice and there would be no mileage in a third contest. Juan Manuel Marquez, whom Pacquiao has already battled four times, is in no mood to accept a fifth meeting. Jessie Vargas is a rising contender at 147 pounds but first needs to get past Bradley in June, while options such as Amir Khan and Keith Thurman are likely closed off due to their Haymon allegiance.
“We will see,” Pacquiao said, giving nothing away about his plans looking forward.
PACQUIAO AFTER FIGHT: ‘I thought I won’
One significant factor that cannot be ignored is Pacquiao’s future dedication to his political career in the Philippines. It is widely expected that he will run for the country’s presidency in the future and has been in political office for six years, currently serving as congressman for Sarangani Province.
However, despite his huge popularity as an athlete, Pacquiao’s political rivals have questioned his dedication, after figures revealed an attendance record of only four congressional session days last year.
Pacquiao’s close friend and key political advisor Chavit Singson told USA TODAY Sports last week that he believed the amount of money Pacquiao would make for fighting Mayweather would spell the end of his career.
“He will have so much money, he wont need any more,” Singson said. However, Singson believes Pacquiao would be well advised not to chase the Filipino presidency once his career ends.
“Better to be a kingmaker than a king,” he said.
Either way, in his mid-30s, with some physical ails, and other matters at hand, Pacquiao’s time as one of boxing’s kings may be running short.

Imported music lines local pockets

Imported music lines local pockets

Demi Lovato’s concert is a prominent example of the growth of international partnerships
Pop star Demi Lovato arrives in Phnom Penh for a one-off concert next week. The show – expected to attract as many as 40,000 fans – will be one of the biggest Western musical performances hosted in the Kingdom.
The Lovato show signals an emerging shift in the country’s music landscape, with Western music gaining popularity in a largely K-pop driven market. Businesses too, recognise the rise, with many attaching themselves to Western pop-stars, whose appeal helps boost a brand’s image among Cambodia’s youth.
“[Young professionals] have strong buying power in the market since they are now starting to earn a [better] living,” said Carlos Philip Bamba Gatulda, public relations and marketing manager at music channel MyTV.
The increase in spending power, and the pull of the glitzy production that both K-Pop and international performers like Lovato have, means brands are increasingly looking to associate themselves with young performers, Gatulda added.
“With this, most advertisers target these audiences, thus making our monthly booking for TV spots a decent number.”
Businesses are aware of Cambodians' love of music, evident in small-business sponsored concerts in the provinces and the blaring street-side music used to attract consumers to stores, said Laurent Notin, managing director at Brains Communication.
“Concerts are very popular on TV too: TV channels often record peak audiences when they broadcast concerts,” he said.
“A good association between the music and the brand can definitely help brands resonate into the minds of consumers – like a song can remind you of a particular personal souvenir,” he added.
Universal Music entered the Cambodian market last year and has a partnership with Smart to distribute and resell the US label’s music and digital content. The Lovato concert, born out of the Smart-Universal venture, allows the telco to position itself as a youthful brand, extending its appeal among young Cambodians.
But where music production and sales are concerned, the local market still has many challenges.
Sandy Monteiro, president for Universal in Southeast Asia, said that in the past in Cambodia, like other regional markets, international music was made popular by local musicians playing cover versions of Western music.
While other markets, he added, have moved on from this trend, Cambodia is only starting to develop an ecosystem for original music, where listeners are encouraged to access and pay for music.
“It’s also about creating an environment and bringing best practices to the country, where Cambodian artists and songwriters get the kind of rewards for their work that artists around the world receive,” Monteiro said.
It is difficult to put a figure on the Cambodian music sector, according to Monteiro, given its current informal nature, and the challenge for his company is how much to charge – $1, 50 cents or 25 cents per song.

In a move to protect intellectual property rights, the Cambodian government last year registered more than 180 songs of golden age singer Sinn Sisamouth, so that his family could claim rights to the songs.
The family claimed that Sisamouth’s songs were being reproduced without permission, depriving them of much-needed royalties.
Cambodia’s music sector has recently seen many local music labels, like Town Production and Sunday Production, increase their focus on music production.
Meas Sokrattanak, general manager at Town Production, said professionalism in the industry was limited and certain issues, such as a lack of human resources and piracy, made it more feasible to just “cover international songs with lyrics of our own language”.
“We have some good, talented singers these days, but producing our own music will need some time in the future, unless the piracy problem is solved,” he said.
Piracy of CDs means labels make barely enough money to cover the costs of their production, making original music creation even less feasible, Sokrattanak added.
But while local Cambodian music grapples with building a more formalised and professional framework, there are some bright spots, albeit moulded on the appeal of international production.
“Cambodia is an open playing field, there is so much room for the “never been done before”, said rising Cambodian-American pop star Laura Mam.
“Marketing and promoting yourself is important, more than ever. But what’s more important at this point is growing your skill level as an artist.”

The Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge

The Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge

Constructed beautifully from metal and glass the Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge were unveiled at the official launch – and this is no joke - at Raffle Le Royal Phnom Penh on April 1.
The event hosted the famous Cambodian singer Aok Sokunkanha who wore a stunning white waist jumpsuit during the product launch. The pop star expressed her pride of being brand ambassador for Samsung.
“I’m very proud of the technology and creativeness of Samsung Smartphone’s. I’m honored to be the brand ambassador of this company,” she said.
The official launch of the new technology in Cambodia followed the global announcement of the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge at the Mobile World Congress held March 5, in Barcelona, Spain.
At that time, JK Shin, CEO and president of Samsung who has recently made international headlines when it was announced that his salary last year topped $13 million, spoke of the smartphone’s as seamlessly blending premium materials with the most advanced Samsung technology to offer consumers an unmatched mobile experience.
“With the all new Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge, Samsung is offering what’s next in mobility, along with a new standard to drive the global mobile agenda,” he said. “By listening to our customers, and learning from both our success and missteps, we continuously push forward new technologies and ideas. With a reimmagined design, robust partner network and novel services, the Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge offer users the ultimate experience in smartphone technology.”
The dramatic redesign gives the carefully crafted smartphones an expensive and elegant look. What’s more, the smartphones are equipped with cutting-edge core technology, and an enhanced camera.
The thin and light weight Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge integrate the brand new 14nm Exynos chipset with 64-bit architecture, one of the most powerful in its class.
Behind the 5.1-inch active-matrix organic light-emitting diode, or AMOLED, display screen, the camera has been upgraded to 16MP while the front camera has 5MP. These incredibly vivid and fast cameras are the best option for selfie fans even in a dim light environment.
For the first time, Samsung has put away the removable battery and the micro SD card slot. The Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge are equipped with built-in storage options and wireless charging. For only 10 minutes of charging, the smartphone can last up to four hours.
The Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge are available for pre order in Cambodia. The S6 32 GB retails at $690, while the S6 Edge 32 GB, depending on the storage capacity and colour choice, starts at $800.

Three decades of CPP strategy bode ill for 'culture of dialogue'

Three decades of CPP strategy bode ill for 'culture of dialogue'

As the highly visible detente between Sam Rainsy and Hun Sen grows warmer, is the opposition leader being lured into a trap?
When opposition leader Sam Rainsy and his deputies made the precarious decision to get cosy with an opponent notorious for co-opting foes, they didn’t go in blind.
The swift demise of Funcinpec and its leader Prince Norodom Ranariddh after their Faustian pacts with the ruling party have become something like old wives’ tales in the opposition, forebodingly recounted whenever the temptation of political compromise rears its head.
In spite of the cautionary tales, staunch opposition from Cambodia National Rescue Party vice president Kem Sokha’s hardline faction, and more than two decades of bitter experiences fighting the regime, the president of the party Rainsy decided to gamble on compromises with his greatest nemesis.
Throughout his 30 years leading Cambodia, Prime Minister Hun Sen has often before employed a tactic of alternatively embracing and crucifying foes, as expedience requires.
Dramatic but fleeting displays of unity, with commentators speaking of “new chapters” and “evolutions” of Cambodian politics, have ended with opponents neutered.
And the current symbolic reconciliatory overtures under the new “culture of dialogue” have only added fuel to the CNRP’s internal fire, which is already split over Rainsy’s approval of controversial election laws which critics accuse of weakening democracy.
“It’s not a new culture of dialogue, but they use different words,” said Kem Ley, analyst and grassroots political aspirant, adding that the term, which was also used during a previous detente with Rainsy, was reminiscent of old pleas for “national unity” in the earlier days of Hun Sen’s reign.
Ranariddh’s final detente with the ruling party came in 2004 after 11 months of deadlock following the 2003 elections. Although Funcinpec had formed an “Alliance of Democrats” with the Sam Rainsy Party to challenge the ruling Cambodian People’s Party, Ranariddh eventually joined a coalition government that left Rainsy jilted.

In June 2004, with hatchets evidently buried, the prince toasted glasses of champagne with Hun Sen and Senate President Chea Sim at the CPP’s 53rd anniversary celebrations as the Funcinpec leader was welcomed into the government camp by his new unlikely bedfellows.
The coalition fell apart after a 2006 constitutional amendment reduced the two-thirds majority required to form a government to only 50 per cent. Subsequently, Funcinpec’s influence diminished to the point where it was forced out of parliament entirely in 2013.
The premier’s most recent thaw with an opponent occurred in 2006 when Rainsy returned in February from a year of self-imposed exile in France. Prior to his homecoming, Rainsy wrote letters apologising to Hun Sen and Ranariddh for the “defamatory” comments over which he had been sentenced to an 18-month prison term in absentia.
The government responded by pardoning Rainsy and freeing several imprisoned opposition and civil society leaders. Promises were also made to review the defamation laws that had convicted them.
A new “culture of dialogue” was heralded by government and opposition personalities alike, including Rainsy, while observers celebrated what they thought was genuine change.
But despite the bold proclamations, the detente of early 2006 became an obscure footnote in Cambodia’s recent political history.
“It wasn’t long before the fight resumed, and four years later Rainsy was back in Paris, with a couple of new jail sentences to his name,” Sebastian Strangio, author of the political history book Hun Sen’s Cambodia and a former Post editor, said in an email.
Rainsy this week dismissed comparisons between 2006 and the present, arguing that changing political winds had created more fertile grounds for reconciliation.
“For the first time ever, there is a united (and strong) democratic opposition in Parliament where only two parties are represented. The new balance of power is more conducive to a real dialogue,” Rainsy said in an email, adding that he believes Hun Sen is acting sincerely.
Any lingering divisions within the opposition party, he added, would be mended by the 2017 commune elections.
Ley described the premier’s posturing as a “trap” that gives Rainsy a complacent sense that he is making progress as a statesman.
“When [Hun Sen] is finished and he wins with this approach, he will kick him out,” he said.
CPP lawmaker and spokesman Suos Yara said the future of the “culture of dialogue” was largely dependent on the CNRP’s internal politics and, in a thinly veiled reference to Sokha, whether Rainsy can “control his own men”.
“The Cambodian political atmosphere is generally based on individual people who decide only with their own mouths, it’s not decided with the principles of the party,” Yara said.
While Strangio said history suggested the detente was perhaps a “tactical truce”, he added that last week’s meeting in Kuala Lumpur, where Hun Sen acknowledged to Rainsy that the opposition may one day prevail, was unprecedented.
“In a country where changes of government have generally been accompanied by a violent purge of the old regime, it’s tempting to see Hun Sen’s comments as an indication he is contemplating his own transience and open to the idea of a peaceful negotiated transition should he lose the election,” Strangio said.
“Equally, all this could be yet another layer of the subtle public theatre of Cambodian political life.”

Germany spy scandal turns tables on Merkel government

Germany spy scandal turns tables on Merkel government

"Spying on your friends - that's really not on." That's how German Chancellor Angela Merkel reacted when she discovered her mobile phone had been bugged by American spies in 2013.
So claims that her country's own secret service spied on its European neighbours on behalf of the US have caused embarrassment and outrage in Berlin.
For years Germany's BND intelligence agency has worked with the US National Security Agency (NSA).
The NSA gives German agents a list of "selectors" - mobile phone numbers and IP addresses - which it wants the BND to monitor. The aim is to combat global terrorism.
But in 2008 the BND reportedly told the chancellery that the list of selectors now included targets that had nothing to do with terrorism. Among them, it is claimed, were European businesses such as Airbus.
Now, according to leaked documents, it appears Germany also spied on the French presidential palace, the French foreign ministry and the EU Commission at the behest of the NSA.

In the firing line

No public reaction has yet emerged from France but the revelation is bound to be damaging to what has been a sound relationship between the two countries.
There is mounting pressure on the German government to disclose how much it knew about the espionage.
In the firing line is Interior Minister Thomas de Maiziere, who in 2008 was the minister in charge of the chancellery and directly responsible for the BND.
He insists he knew nothing about malpractice within the secret service.
Tabloid newspaper Bild printed a picture of Mr de Maiziere on Wednesday- his nose elongated to Pinocchio proportions.
"Herr de Maiziere!" the accompanying headline screamed, "You lie with impunity!"
Mr de Maiziere says that - because the information is all classified - he is unable to comment publicly. But he has called for the leaked report to be presented to a special parliamentary committee "the sooner the better".
That committee was set up to investigate revelations by US whistleblower Edward Snowden about NSA surveillance in Europe, including the monitoring of Mrs Merkel's mobile phone.

Dominated headlines

On Thursday morning one of the committee's members expressed frustration. Christian Flisek, of the Social Democratic Party (SPD), said the committee had been trying to get a list of NSA selectors through official channels for weeks.
Surveillance is a sensitive subject here and the latest spying revelations have dominated headlines for days.
It is not so long, after all, since citizens of former East Germany were routinely spied on by their own government.
Angela Merkel's spokesman maintains that the chancellery was unaware of the extent of the espionage.
That has not stopped the questions.
Another German newspaper has devoted its front page to a "wanted" poster.
Who's the culprit, it wonders. And among the mug shots of politicians and civil servants - Chancellor Angela Merkel herself.

'Thunder and Lightning' herald a new season from Sophiline Arts

'Thunder and Lightning' herald a new season from Sophiline Arts

Under the ornate, fan-shaped roof of the Chaktomuk Theatre, a battle of the elements is raging as dancers from the Sophiline Arts Ensemble rehearse for the opening night of its new show.
The jealous giant Ream Eyso chases Moni Mekahala, guardian of the seas, through the skies. He flings his axe towards his rival, but it hits the clouds instead and a resounding boom echoes. In response, Moni Mekahala throws a precious jewel into the air, creating a glare that blinds the giant. Through this celestial duel, thunder and lightning are born.
The tale, performed from tonight until Sunday under the title Thunder and Lightning, will be familiar to many Cambodians as a centuries-old prayer for agricultural fertility.
Its traditionalism may come as a surprise to those familiar with the work of its choreographer: Sophiline Shapiro, a driving force in the modernisation of Cambodian dance whose 2013 show A Bend in the River toured internationally and featured a set design by abstract sculptor Sopheap Pich.
But she says that this canonical performance has an equally important impetus: the need to document a dance preserved only in the memories of a handful of teachers, and on a badly worn video cassette that Shapiro was handed in 1996.
When the choreographer and her husband, John Shapiro, founded the Sophiline Arts Ensemble in 2007, remastering this particular dance was an early priority: “I started to train my dancers straight away,” she says, “The tape was in such a bad condition it was important to learn it quickly.”
With the help of some of the original dancers, Shapiro pieced together the two-hour production and hastily filmed a new master copy.
Before this evening’s performance, Shapiro will take to the stage to introduce the piece. Although she expects audiences to be familiar with the general outline of the story, she wants to explain its subtler themes: the need to balance opposing forces; our daily inner struggle to have good win out over evil; the majesty of a powerful woman.
“In Cambodian mythology a lot of women play pretty princesses,” she says, “but Moni Mekahala is a leader. Although she carries the most powerful jewel she doesn’t use it to intimidate, she uses it to protect the world.”
She hopes that she will be looking out at a sold-out auditorium, but it’s hard to know for sure. Because, as John Shapiro explains, the real innovation of this piece isn’t the show itself, it’s the production model behind it.
Rather than performing as they used to, as part of a festival or for free in their small Takhmao Theatre in Kandal province, the company is pushing forward with a new model of selling tickets. “With the exception of pop music and tourist shows there is no history of ticketed shows in Cambodia,” he says. “Going back to Ankorian times [public dance] has been achieved through patronage.”
John admits that the ingrained expectation of getting something for nothing in Cambodia makes the project a risky experiment, as does the absence of any infrastructure for online ticketing, but the signs are positive.
In June the company’s inaugural run of paid-for performances sold out completely, with a waiting list for the last night.
Provided that the new model proves durable, the Shapiros plan to ease back on international touring and devote their energies to putting on three seasons of dance per year at the Chaktomuk.
The aim, Shapiro says, is to be “the local equivalent of the New York City Ballet”, although he hopes that Cambodian spectators will prove different in one important respect. “In lots of countries half your audiences are nodding off because they’re so old. You can’t survive with an audience that’s geriatric.”
Tickets for this show start at $3 for students. “It’s like going to Brown and getting a cappuccino and a muffin,” says Shapiro.

Chelsea stand one win away from the Premier League title after mounting an impressive comeback to beat Leicester City at the King Power Stadium.

Jose Mourinho's side needed to call on all their reserves of quality and resilience to overcome Leicester City's fiercely determined challenge which earned them a deserved first-half lead through Marc Albrighton.
As expectations of another victory on the road to Premier League safety rose in a thunderous atmosphere, Chelsea responded in the style of champions-elect to earn the victory that means they will be crowned champions for the first time in five years if they beat Crystal Palace at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.
Didier Drogba restored equality early in the second half and further goals from captain John Terry and Ramires wrapped up a win that was testimony to the qualities that have put Chelsea on the brink of glory.
And in a swipe at the Arsenal fans who criticised their approach in Sunday's goalless draw at the Emirates, the visiting fans roared their team to the final whistle with chants of "boring, boring Chelsea".
This defeat ends Leicester's run of four straight wins that has lifted them out of the relegation places but there was enough contained within this display to maintain manager Nigel Pearson's belief that they will retain their Premier League status.

      Terrific Terry

John Terry's goal was his 38th in the Premier League, taking him level with David Unsworth as the top-scoring defender in the history of the competition.
Terry has scored in each of the last 15 Premier League seasons.
For Chelsea and manager Jose Mourinho, only the formalities remain to be completed as he moved towards his third title at Stamford Bridge, the first of his second spell in charge, after claiming the Capital One Cupearlier this season.
All the factors behind Leicester's recent renaissance were in evidence in a first half when they recovered from serious disruption to take a lead they fully merited.
The Foxes started with real rhythm and tempo but suffered two enforced early changes as Andy King and Robert Huth went off injured to be replaced by Ritchie De Laet and Matty James.
It was still the Foxes, inspired by the ageless Esteban Cambiasso, who held the initiative and it was only fine work from Petr Cech, standing in for Thibaut Courtois as he nurses a slight hip injury, who prevented Leicester from taking the lead.
The veteran blocked superbly from Paul Konchesky as he arrived at the far post, then Albrighton's shot was blocked in the scramble as Chelsea survived.
They did not escape in first-half stoppage time when the pace of Jamie Vardy posed more problems, creating a chance down the left, and when Cesar Azpilicueta lost his footing on a surface made slippy by a downpour, Albrighton beat Cech with a calm side-footed finish.

      Fabulous Fabregas

Cesc Fabregas equalled his best ever haul of assists in a Premier League season, matching the 17 he recorded in 2007/08.
Only two players have assisted more goals in a single Premier League season (Thierry Henry 20 in 2002-03 and Frank Lampard 18 in 2004-05).
The King Power Stadium was rocking but Chelsea responded in the manner Mourinho will have demanded with the equaliser three minutes after the restart, the hobbling Drogba sweeping Branislav Ivanovic's cross beyond Kasper Schmeichel.
Drogba should have added a second within moments but scooped a finish high over the bar from Cesc Fabregas's pass.
The great striker had looked every one of his 37 years in the first half but was suddenly a threat and flashed a shot across the face of goal after a powerful run into the area.
As Leicester tired, understandably as their work-rate was so intense, Chelsea took charge and there was an inevitability about the goal that put them in front with 11 minutes remaining. Schmeichel did well to push out Gary Cahill's header from Fabregas's corner but Terry reacted first to push the loose ball over the line.

Chelsea were now in complete command and Ramires provided the final flourish with a superb rising drive from the edge of the area that flew past the helpless Schmeichel.
The title is within reach - it is now a question of when rather than if for Mourinho and Chelsea.
Leicester manager Nigel Pearson: "The players didn't deserve to be on the end of a 3-1 defeat. It was a tough game, we took the lead and showed a decent account of ourselves.
"Having taken the lead we showed positive intent but in the second half with them equalising so early, it gives a different complexion and the way the game developed suited their game-plan."
John Terry's goal was the 19th scored by a Chelsea defender in all competitions this season
Ramires rifled home the third goal from Cesc Fabregas's 17th assist of the season
Marc Albrighton's goal was his first for Leicester - he had not scored in the top flight since netting the 20,000th goal in Premier League history for Aston Villa in December 2011
